This is one of my favorite Emerson passages.  I think it’s worthy of some thought as you embark upon your own job search.  Are there talents you bring to the table in your life which you discount to some degree simply because whatever it is comes easily to you?  Do you think that because something seems to flow for you it must be so for everyone else?  Are you thinking of it as ‘no big deal’? 

Maybe it’s time to consider that it might not be so easy for everyone else at all.  Perhaps it is a very big deal.  Maybe it’s where you should be looking after all.  What is it that you could do for hours and hours and never get tired of doing?  In what direction is your talent calling you?
